About Jim…
I am the guidance counselor and teach AP psychology and US Hisory at Marist Brothers International School, in Kobe, Japan. I have been teaching in various capacities for 15 years. In 1991, I graduated SUNY Albany with a bachelors in Asian Studies and History, and completed a teacher certification course from SUNY New Paltz in 1994. In 1999 I returned to SUNY New Paltz and completed the coursework (thesis unfinished) for a Masters degree in Psychology with a concentration in Counseling. My permanent home is in Monroe, NY and I love going kayaking, hiking, and traveling with my wife and 2 children.
I’m hoping to use the CDIT degree to help other educators integrate technology into the curriculum and as a springboard for a new direction in my career. Though I never plan on giving up teaching at least one secondary school class.
In the future, I hope to start an NPO and open on online accredited school aimed at students in the developing world, in order to grant them better access to the US university system.
FYI: The picture above is from a trip to Florence, Italy. I would love, love, to move to the Tuscany hills…
